How Evil Genius Serves the Entertainment Industry

We Build Immersive Games

Evil Genius Games is the creator of the Everyday Heroes RPG rules engine. Our team is composed of master game designers, writers and artists. This proprietary rules system allows us to develop games based on the modern world. Similar to the world-building engine Dungeons & Dragons built for creating fantasy-related games, our system is the only one of its kind for telling modern day stories.

Utilizing our system, we can quickly build IP-related RPGs for popular movie franchises. We have done this for franchises such as Rambo, Highlander, Escape From New York, Total Recall, Universal Soldier, Pacific Rim, Kong: Skull Island, and The Crow. These games are sold through specialty retailers across 17 countries and in multiple languages.

Case Study: The Crow

We worked closely with Sam Pressman and Pressman Films to create the Crow Roleplaying Game alongside his filming of The Crow movie reboot. Working with Sam and Evolution Management, we expanded the canon to include additional Death Spirits beyond just the Crow. In our game, a player’s character can bond with The Mastiff, The Owl, The Snake, and other death spirits to exact their revenge on the living world.

We Help You Worldbuild

When you release a film, you’re just telling one story in a new and innovative world. But what happens when you want to tell the next story? That’s where Evil Genius Games comes in. In order to create a compelling game, we work with filmmakers to develop the “four corners” of the universe in which the movie or TV Series is set..

We have several experts in world-building on staff who have been directly responsible for building role-playing universes for expanded science-fiction and fantasy worlds for Dungeons and Dragons, Marvel, Star Wars, Pathfinder, Starfinder, The Expanse, Gloomhaven, and many more.

Case Study: Rebel Moon

The Rebel Moon project presented us with enormous challenges. Not only did we need to create a tabletop role-playing game that brought the world of Rebel Moon to life, but the Rebel Moon universe, as we received it, was largely without detail or form.

The first step for the game was to build new mechanics based on our Everyday Heroes system. And with just one Rebel Moon script and a few provisional storylines to review, our world-building team stepped up to the plate and created over 10,000 years of original detailed history, backstories for characters, alien races, and other original materials. The result was the Rebel Moon World Bible, Player’s Guide, and Game Master’s Guide—-over 1,000 pages of original content in all, in under four months.

Now, in addition to a spectacular TTRPG, all of the original work that Evil Genius Games created could potentially be taken into writer’s rooms of future production projects and used as a starting point to tell other stories within the Rebel Moon Universe.

We Create Franchise Engagement

Evil Genius Games takes great movie IPs with a solid fan base and creates new interactive ways for fans to interact with the content in between films and television seasons.

You’ve worked hard to create amazing stories and build great buzz for your films and TV series, but how do you engage your loyal fans in between content releases? Evil Genius Games can help you make sure fans are talking about your worlds continually between releases..

We create games that engage the audiences year round. Much cheaper and faster than producing a video game, our games are immersive settings that place fans of the IP inside the world for multiple hours at a time. We offer two options to engage fans. Our Cinematic Adventures last 10-20 hours and our Cinematic Adventure Paths immerse players in an epic adventure lasting up to 100 hours per game.

Case Study: Pacific Rim

We recently announced the creation of Pacific Rim: Dominion of Iron Cinematic Adventure Path. The game is set right after the comic book events from Year Zero when the Pan Pacific Defence Corporation is just being formed. Young Cadets must work together to bring the last remaining countries into the Alliance.

For this project, we worked closely with Legendary studios to ensure the game fits within the canon of the world and supports the ongoing storyline. More importantly, this product includes over 100 hours of gameplay, during which the players are deeply immersed in the IP.

We Have a Massive Ground Game

Our products are sold within thousands of stores worldwide. We work with store owners to provide tools for them to create and run games for their customers. Our organized Play Program automates and streamlines the process for retailers and convention managers to organize hundreds of thousands of players to come together weekly to play games related to your franchise IP. This means more real-time engagement for your IP.

Case Study: Go4Games, New Orleans, LA

Go4Games Store in New Orleans, LA sets aside their Wednesday nights to focus on running Evil Genius Games for their community. For four hours each Wednesday, players who may not even know each other can come together at the shop and enjoy a new adventure playing any of the scenarios from our IP Partners.
