Evil Genius Games went to the 2025 GAMA (Game Manufactures Association) convention in Louisville, Kentucky, and it was a big ego (and E.G.O.) boost. There was a big and receptive turnout at Dave’s presentation, and he had many productive meetings over the five days that we were there. At the booth, Brian, Haley, Dave, and I talked to convention representatives, retailers, distributors, freelancers, and publishers who came by the booth, and they left impressed with what we are doing and hopeful for what is to come. It was very heartening to see and hear their enthusiasm for Evil Genius and Everyday Heroes.
In terms of the E.G.O. program, I met over twenty game store owners and reps, and most were interested in bringing the E.G.O. to their stores and were eager to promote the program and work with us to find local GMs to run games. I’m going to be following up on those contacts in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the Directors and I are forming working groups to make recommendations for what we can do in the months ahead to support and develop our pool of volunteers and convention organizers. Next, there will be two more working groups. One will be tasked with suggesting revisions to the E.G.O. Gameplay Options and unlocks to make playing the REDEMPTION setting and other adventures more exciting, fun, and rewarding. The other working group that the Directors will put together will explore how the 3PP capabilities of Sidekick might be harnessed to provide the E.G.O. program additional approved content so that participants in the program have a wider range of REDEMPTION-adjacent and other content to play. If you are an E.G.O. volunteer and would like to become part of one of these working groups, please let me know.
And please make sure that if you are a Handler, you keep three games up on Dispatch at all times. It doesn’t matter if these games are one, two, three, or even a month apart. What matters is having the games on Dispatch (and Warhorn) so that, as we add players that you, our participating retailers, and conventions bring to the table there are games for them to find.
Here are a few pictures from GAMA!
