The Agency Files…Altogether, Now
–Curtis Baum, Evil Genius Games Organized-Play Manager
When Everyday Heroes have visitors from other planets or problems involving them, who do they turn to? To the Agency, of course. The government will never admit its existence, but the Agency’s role is critical to the safety of the planet. But what exactly is the Agency and its role in Everyday Heroes?
The Agency is a clandestine organization within Everyday Heroes created by Bryan C.P. Steele for Evil Genius Games. Originally, there were three expansions—The Mysterious Agent, Using the Super Sciences of The Agency, and Reptaurians and Other Strangeness—but since Evil Genius Games started its practice of publishing monthly expansions and adventures, we have been working hard to provide an updated version in which all three former publications are revised and gathered into one out-of-this-world Bonus Feature. If you have already purchased the combined files on Sidekick, this will be an automatic update.
So, for those of you who are still unaware of this corner of the Everyday Heroes universe, what’s in this revised publication for you?
The Mysterious Agent Class
The first book of the original set focused on a new Smart Hero, the Mysterious Agent, the kind of agent of the Agency that deals with the extraterrestrial on a regular basis. Equipped with high-tech gear and having access to unique abilities, this Class offers a lot of options for dealing with aliens and other threats in any Everyday Heroes campaign that deals with this subject.
Not only did this book include the Mysterious Agent Class, but it also has options for other characters. Were you abducted by aliens in the past? Do you work for the Agency filing paperwork? This book covers all of these kinds of options for your character.
Using Super Sciences of the Agency
The second book of the original series focused on the fun bells and whistles of the sci-fi genre. This includes not just equipment used in a scifi setting, but also a series of new Feats that allow other characters to embrace the genre. Finally, it presents several potential adventure hook ideas that can be utilized to adapt any Everyday Heroes game to incorporate this new material.
Reptaurians and Other Strangeness
The final book of the series presented some new species common to alien tropes. Specifically, it includes the invasive and carnivorous Reptaurians, the intellectually curious Grey Martians, and the militaristic Green Martians. These three species make up the “Triumvirate,” the Agency’s chief opponent. Statblocks are provided for several different enemies, and the book also included rules to play these species as an Origin, specific to an Everyday Heroes campaign, and some basic equipment as well.
Conclusion
All together, the new Agency Files gathers together a variety of previously-published themed game assets for players and GMs to use in exciting ways to expand their Everyday Heroes adventures into science fiction realms, builds more connections with existing materials, and adds new artwork to bring the revised publication in line with Evil Genius Games’ expanding line of products. With a gaze toward the stars, this book will be fun for any lover of the “aliens on earth” genre!
