You’ve asked for an Urban Arcana refresh and we’ve heard you! To get things started, Evil Genius Games is launching an open submission contest that invites you to create the backdrop for our Urban Arcana setting – a magical world set in modern times, complete with the origin of magic and the fate of elder races such as elves, dwarves, and halflings.

Imagine a world where magic is real, and the impossible becomes possible. But how did this magic come into existence? Was it a gift from the gods, or the result of a long-forgotten experiment that went awry? Your proposal should delve into the origins of magic and how it has shaped the world we know today, as well as explore its effects on the modern world and its people.

The elder races, with their centuries-old wisdom and knowledge, have their own story to tell. How have they adapted to a world that has changed beyond recognition, and what role do they play in the present day? Your proposal should explore the struggles and triumphs of these ancient beings and their relationship with the world they now live in.

Submit your 200-word proposal now and show us how you would create a world full of wonder, enchantment, and ancient races.

Semi-finalists will be invited and paid to write a 1,000-word proposal expanding on their initial pitch. Our fans will vote on the submissions. One of those three will be hired to write a 50,000-word history of the magical world of Everyday Heroes.

• 10 semi-finalists will be announced
  • May 5th, 2023
• Semi-finalists submit a paid 1,000-word submission
  • May 8th to June 9th, 2023 at midnight EST
• 3 finalists will be announced
  • June 26th, 2023
• Fans get to vote
  • June 26th, 2023 to July 14th at Midnight EST
• The winner is announced.
  • August 3rd, 2023
